Overview
A global pharmaceutical company is one of the best-known scientific and commercial names in its therapeutic area. It is also one of the few companies that can genuinely claim to have created a category-defining product, a commercially successful innovation now licensed by some of the largest and most recognised names in the industry. As it extended its platform into adjacent clinical areas, it was moving into ground where it was not yet known and its credibility would be tested. It needed a partner to carry its hard-won authority from one clinical area into a story that made the expansion understandable and convincing to audiences encountering the brand for the first time.
The Mandate
VERBED was engaged to engineer a persuasive, memorable corporate narrative for that transition. The work demanded a rare skill: distilling complex, highly technical science and medicine into a story that landed with audiences inside and outside the industry alike, from R&D and commercial teams to partners and investors who needed to grasp the opportunity without the clinical background. Working closely with a senior team that held strong and varied perspectives, from the chief executive to the scientific and medical leadership, we helped them align on a sharper, shared story. We call this engineering the untouchables: a single narrative the whole leadership team stands behind, one they use with their own people, with partners and the public, and when recruiting. We paired it with a new brand language commensurate with the company's authority and standing, so its materials looked as credible and established as its reputation.
Outcome
The company now has one corporate narrative that holds up with very different audiences. It builds credibility in a new clinical space, opens conversations with partners, and is drawing investor interest ahead of a major fundraise. A single, consistent story now carries the brand from the conference stage to the partner discussion to the investor meeting.
